Carillon Miami Wellness Hotel | Oasis in an Urban Landscape

As the wellness travel market expands, many properties are enhancing their spa and fitness offerings to meet demand. This is true for retreats, like Euphoria and Miraval, as well as medical and holistic facilities. This also includes the Carillon Miami Wellness Hotel, where I had the pleasure of staying recently.

Carillon Miami Wellness Hotel Spa Treatments

Originally built in the 1950s, Carillon Miami Wellness Resort is a Miami Beach institution. Today, the Carillon boasts the largest spa and wellness facility in South Beach at a massive 70,000 square feet.

Traditional and Modern Methods

The array of spa experiences ranges from functional to holistic, traditional to touchless wellness treatments. The hydrotherapy circuit has nine hot and cold thermal experiences. They also have over 75 weekly group fitness classes, including a Pilates reformer at no additional cost. They also have a stunning oceanfront fitness floor and a two-story climbing wall.

Here, you can also enjoy a 50-minute Himalayan Salt Stone Massage. For a shorter escape, choose a relaxing 30-minute full-body massage. Or, treat yourself to an 80-minute anti-aging facial.

I experienced two of the latter hands-free treatments, V.E.M.I. and halotherapy. Meanwhile, my travel partner enjoyed a classic Chinese massage therapy.

The Carillon Spa has 28 treatment rooms, making it an ideal destination for group getaways. Note that the spa and fitness areas are open to anyone over the age of 16.

Thermal Hydrotherapy Circuit

The Thermal Hydrotherapy Circuit includes an herbal laconium, a crystal steam room, and a Finnish sauna. They also have an igloo shower, rain showers, a vitality tub, thermal loungers, and foot spas. Best yet, the Thermal Hydrotherapy Circuit is open to all hotel guests for no extra cost. This is regardless of whether you are having a treatment or not.

Luxury All-Suite Accommodations

In the hotel itself, the spacious luxury all-suite lodgings feature one or two bedrooms. They also boast a well-equipped kitchen and a separate living room. Windows are floor-to-ceiling, offering expansive views, especially those overlooking the beach (well worth the upgrade).

You can customize bedrooms with king or twin queen beds. With the Bryte Balance Smart Bed, you program the bed to your firmness preference. If two of you are sharing the bed and have different comfort levels, you each customize your side. Then, you receive a sleep analysis by email in the morning.

Furthermore, the bathrooms feature a large soaking tub, vanity, make-up station, hot tubs, and a separate toilet. There is also a scale in case you want to track your progress while at Carillon Miami Wellness Hotel.

More Information on Suites

Each suite contains an ActivePure advanced air and surface filtration system. This product of NASA proved to kill pathogens and toxins. Moreover, a selection of suites are pet-friendly and can accommodate furry companions up to 35 lbs.

Carillon Miami’s Restaurants

You’ve seen the many ways to calm the mind and body. Now, let’s take a look at the dining options.

The Corner Store

This restaurant makes healthy smoothies and juices to order, while also offering coffee, fresh baked goods, and grab-and-go healthy meals. The beer, wine, and snacks are perfect for enjoying in the comfort of your apartment if you don’t feel like dining out. For the record, there is a Publix supermarket literally across the street. It’s great for when you want to prep your meal in your top-of-the-line kitchen.

Seaglass Café

Sitting by the cabana pool, they offer freshly prepared salads and sandwiches, as well as light fare and frozen cocktails. Stand-out dishes include Octopus and Shrimp Ceviche, Andalucian Watermelon Salad, and Salmon Poke.

Heartier fare includes an array of burgers, Blackened Mahi Tacos, sandwiches, and gourmet pizza. Meanwhile, vegan and gluten-free options are also available.

The Strand at Carillon Miami

This one features organic, Mediterranean-inspired dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients. We enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Crudo, Roasted Quinoa, and Short Ribs Fagottini. For dessert, we moved to the very comfy cocktail bar for Chocolate Martinis from the excellent list of hand-crafted cocktails. Also, selections from the Strand are available for in-suite dining.

Tambourine Room

This Michelin-starred boutique restaurant offers a 10-course tasting menu. Famous chef Tristan Brandt designed it himself, whose influences are French haute cuisine and Asian. Furthermore, this special dining experience lasts a whole evening and is by reservation only. It’s available from Wednesday to Sunday, at 7 PM daily, with a plant-based menu on hand.
